HISD video team wins four Telly Awards

by HISD Communications

Members of Team HISD who typically work behind the camera are receiving a moment in the spotlight themselves. The HISD video team has been honored with four awards — two silver and two bronze — in the 36th annual Telly Awards.

Silver awards went to HISD for “Literacy by 3,” which depicts the development of the district’s flagship literacy program and “Edgar’s Story,” which shows how the district’s EMERGE program helped a high-potential/low-income student get to Yale. Silver is the highest award possible in the Tellys, as there is no gold.

Congratulations also go out this week to:

  • Six students from Bellaire, Carnegie Vanguard, and DeBakey high schools, who were recently named recipients of National Merit scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities. Find that full story here.
