HISD supporting SWAC/HBCU day on Friday, Dec. 4
Students invited to SWAC game and expo on Saturday to learn more about historically black colleges
Members of Team HISD are invited to wear their Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) or Historically Black College and University (HBCU) gear on Friday, Dec. 4, in celebration of the annual SWAC Football Championship game. The match-up between the Alcorn State University Braves and Grambling State University Tigers will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5, at NRG Stadium.
In addition to the game, HISD students are invited to attend the SWAC College Expo which will take place at the NRG Stadium concourse from 1:30 p.m. until halftime. Students are encouraged to bring their unofficial high school transcripts and/or test scores for preliminary review by college admissions staff. All 10 SWAC schools will be present: Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Grambling State University, Southern University and A&M College, Alcorn State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi Valley State University, Prairie View A&M University, and Texas Southern University.
