There were a few common themes during the Team HISD hat presentations at Tuesday’s Central Office Staff Meetings: Dedication. Team Player. Dependable. Trustworthy.

According to the coworkers who nominated them, the four employees recognized with Team HISD hats are shining examples of what the district can accomplish when employees consistently go above and beyond the call of duty.

Janice Dunigan (Human Resources), Michael Webb (Child Study), Perry Weston (Communications), and Prosper Williams (IT) were honored during the meetings for doing just that.

  • Dunigan’s house has flooded twice in the past year, yet she has never allowed her circumstances to affect her job performance. She arrives early, leaves late, and is always willing to lend a helping hand with warm smile. Her patience and attentiveness, her coworkers said, sets an example the HR department strives for.
  • Under Webb’s leadership, the district is in 98 percent compliance with evaluations for special education identification and has seen an 800 percent increase in dyslexia identification since 2011 thanks to his work. He is described as a highly respected leader across the state as well as throughout the district thanks to his collaborative nature.
  • While Weston primarily works behind the scenes at Board of Education meetings and various school events, his work hasn’t gone unnoticed by those with whom he works. His patient and thoughtful attention to AV equipment means all these events run smoothly and help showcase HISD and our students in the best light.
  • When technology is involved, there are bound to be technical issues. And Williams is there to fix them. He provides desktop and printer support for the central office, but also tests new computers and ensures the technology in the Board auditorium works smoothly. His expertise and willingness to tackle difficult technical issues makes him a valued IT team member.
