Teachers: Register by June 12 for all summer PD

Variety of learning opportunities available for PK-12 teachers 

Pre-K through 12 teachers are encouraged to sign up for a variety of professional development opportunities over the summer to help them prepare for the 2016-17 school year.

Teachers must register in eTRAIN by June 12 for ALL summer training and professional development from June 1 to August 18, 2016 This includes August pre-service training (August 8-18) and Job-Alike training (August 11 & 17), as well as any professional development offered during the months of June, July, and August. Below is a listing of various learning opportunities available.  

Elementary Teaching and Learning Institutes
Elementary Curriculum and Development is offering a differentiated professional-learning experience throughout June and July that will allow teachers to design a day to meet their own professional learning needs. The conference-style institute will offer session strands that align to and support Literacy by 3, dual language, writer’s workshop, science, math, social studies, and early childhood. Each day will run from 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and teachers will choose from one six-hour, two three-hour, or four 80-minute courses. Click here for more information. Literary in the Middle
All middle-school teachers are encouraged to take part in Literacy in the Middle training in June. Literacy in the Middle continues the work founded in Literacy by 3 to support the literacy lives of our students in grades 6–8. During the sessions, teachers in all subjects will learn how to support students as they engage deeply in core-content areas while growing their literacy levels. Teachers will receive a $100-per-day stipend for attendance. Click here for more information, dates, and eTRAIN numbers.

Get “Powered Up”
Secondary Curriculum and Development is offering a variety of personalized PowerUp trainings, including Tech Tuesdays and Webinar Wednesdays throughout June and July. Interested participants are invited to choose their own path of learning. Click here for more information or watch this short video.

HUB Adventure Live
