HSPVA Student to Transform City Street into a Work of Art

This weekend, one student from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts will be using his creative talents to transform a section of pavement downtown into a visual feast.

Ninth-grader Michael Cortez was the only student selected from HISD to participate in Via Colori: The Street Painting Festival, and he talks about what inspired the painting he plans to execute near Houston’s City Hall, how he was chosen, and why he thinks he might need knee pads in this week’s “I Am HISD” profile
