The HISD Board of Education has approved the 2014-2015 academic calendar. Here are the key dates parents and students need to know.

First day of school: Aug. 25, 2014
Last day of school: May 28, 2015

Students will NOT have classes on the following days:
• Sept. 1, 2014: Labor Day
• Oct. 3, 2014: Fall Holiday
• Nov. 26-28, 2014: Thanksgiving Break
• Dec. 22, 2014-Jan. 2, 2015: Winter Break
• Jan. 5, 2015: Teacher Preparation Day
• Jan. 19, 2015: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• March 16-20, 2015: Spring Break
• April 3, 2015: Spring Holiday
• May 25, 2015: Memorial Day

Schools will dismiss 2 ½ hours early on the following days:
• Sept. 24, 2014
• Oct. 29, 2014
• Nov. 19, 2014
• Jan. 28, 2015
• Feb. 25, 2015
