More than 100 architects and engineers planning to bid for design work for schools listed in the remaining phases of the HISD 2012 bond program attended a pre-proposal conference this week. The deadline to submit bids for projects in Phase 3 and 4 is scheduled for 2 p.m. on July 8.
The pre-proposal conference provided an overview of HISD’s expectations for submitting bids for architectural and engineering contracts for schools slated for construction in both phases as part of the district’s $1.89 billion bond program, which will rebuild and renovate 40 schools across the city.
“The design, engineering, and construction of these schools brings out the most talented and innovative designers in the industry,” said HISD General Manager of Business Assistance Alexis Licata. “We are confident that these firms are able to design modern and state-of-the-art learning environments that take advantage of 21st century learning techniques and technology to ensure that our students receive a superior education.”
