State Board of Education seeks public input on assessments and accountability

Make your voice heard regarding STAAR testing, school ratings, and other state accountability programs.

The State Board of Education has launched an online survey to get public feedback, concerns, and suggestions on the state’s current programs.

The survey is available in English here and in Spanish here through June 30.

Survey results will be reviewed and analyzed by the SBOE at its July 19-22 meeting before being presented to legislative leaders and the Texas Commission on Next Generation Assessments and Accountability.

The commission was created by the Texas Legislature and is made up of 15 members who will recommend statutory changes to the state’s assessment and accountability ratings. Those recommendations will be presented to the Texas governor and Legislature by Sept. 1.
