HISD’s Counseling Department to hold virtual Career Information Sessions

HISD’s Counseling Department is hosting two virtual Career Information Sessions for those interested in becoming a school counselor in the District.

Sessions will take place on the following dates:

Tuesday, April 30, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, May 21, 4 to 5 p.m.

Sessions will include information on the recruitment and selection process, eligibility requirements, compensation, and benefits.

Eligible candidates must hold a master’s in counseling. To register for next session, click here.

HISD students to explore careers at annual When I Grow Up expo

HISD’s 12th annual When I Grow Up career expo will be held Saturday, April 27, from 10. a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center (4400 W. 18th Street, 77092).

More than 100 exhibitors from local companies and organizations and post-secondary institutions will be on hand to help students explore their options in high-demand, high-growth industries. All HISD students in grades K-12 and their families are invited.

HISD’s Talent Acquisition team is hosting a series of virtual Career Information Sessions, covering a variety of specialized campus-based positions and programs through December.

Prospective candidates will learn more about the District, career opportunities, and the work involved in key roles. Candidates will also have the chance to ask questions.

Provides students chance to earn an associate’s degree and technical training

The Houston Independent School District, in partnership with the Houston Community College and the University of Texas MD Anderson School of Health Professions, announces a new Futures Academy of Heath Science Careers at Westside High School.  Press conference will be on Tuesday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at Westside, 14201 Briar Forest Drive.
