Summer internship available for juniors, seniors interested in medical research career

HISD is partnering with MD Anderson Cancer Center to offer three current juniors or seniors a paid summer research internship on cancer science.

If you are interested in a career in medical research, this could be a great opportunity for you. Applications are due by Jan. 11, 2018.

The 10-week program runs June 6 through Aug. 10, 2018.  Students receive a $6,000 stipend paid in installments throughout the internship.  Continue reading

All middle and high students will be provided with smoking prevention curriculum developed by cancer center

HISD and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have reached a first-of-its-kind agreement to provide access to an evidence-based, youth-oriented tobacco prevention and cessation program for all 110,000 HISD middle and high school students.
