Three HISD schools receive 2016 National Merit awards from Magnet Schools of America

Garden Oaks Montessori, Lovett ES, and the Energy Institute HS were honored Friday with 2016 National Merit awards from Magnet Schools of America, the national association for magnet and themed-based schools. Read the complete story here.

• The thirty-three schools who have been named to the 2015 Texas Honor Roll by the Educational Results Partnership, a nonprofit organization that showcases schools with high academic achievement. Learn which schools received the honor here.
• Catherine Smith at Austin HS and Madelyn Traylor at Blackshear ES, were recently honored as “Houston’s Hometown Champion” after winning the most votes in a national social-media contest sponsored by Radio One/News One. Find out more here.
