Students from four different HISD schools – Pin Oak MS, HS for Performing and Visual Arts, T.H. Rogers, and Carnegie Vanguard – have been recognized as national winners in the 2016 Scholastic Art & Writing contests, and a fifth student has received an additional award at the regional level. - HISD Nutrition Services, for being recognized by the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Perfect Peach Award for offering locally sourced products such as summer squash, apples, and watermelon on school menus. Read more about the award here.
- The 55 students from Bellaire, Carnegie Vanguard, Lamar, and Lee high schools, DeBakey High School for Health Professions, Eastwood Academy, and the High School for the Performing & Visual Arts, for being named National Merit finalists. Learn what’s next for the students as they advance here.
