IT IS OVER!!! I am done!! A huge weight lifted off my shoulders as I pressed the last submit button. I can’t believe I spent four months, FOUR MONTHS working on college applications. Practically every weekend was devoted to hours of writing. At times it was frustrating because I wanted to make sure that what I wrote was true to myself and well-written. But when I look back on it, I don’t regret the experience. I know that most people, if not everyone, thinks that 23 applications is too many. Even I believed it was too much sometimes, but at the end of the day I don’t regret it.
I applied to schools that I really liked and saw something special in each of them. If anyone else is thinking about doing what I did, however, my advice would be to really think about it. It takes time, money, TIME, and MONEY. But if you really want to do it, go for it. You never know what might happen. It’s good to have options and search for the school that is a good fit for you. Just make sure you’re ready to buckle down and get it done.
Now that my college apps are done, my parents and I have been focusing on financial aid and scholarships. Dealing with FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Financial Aid) and the CSS (College Scholarship Service) Profile can be time-consuming. But it is very important that everything is done correctly and accounted for. I’m all done, though, and all that is left to do is wait to hear from my schools.
