New employee self-service features coming soon
HISD will roll out new employee self-service capabilities on Feb. 27 that will enable employees to update personal information such as their cell and home telephone numbers, mailing address, direct-deposit information, and W4 information.
Employees also can view pay statements, print their 2014 W2 form, and view leave balances and compensation history using the new self-service functions. Once the site launches, all of these features can be accessed via the “Employee Self Service” link on the HISD home page or through the Employee Portal.
One of the major drivers of this change is the district’s desire to make it more convenient for employees to access and manage their personal information. Employees will have the ability to update information from any device with an internet connection – at work, home, or on the go – to help ensure the district has the most up-to-date and accurate data. This is especially important when HISD sends important correspondence to employees, such as tax or health benefits information.
Overview of new employee self-service features:
- Update telephone numbers, including both cell and home
- Update home addresses
- Update direct-deposit information
- Update emergency contacts
- Update W4 information
- View and reprint copies of 2014 W2
View pay statements (new printer-friendly format, up to previous 12 months)

Training materials, including a step-by-step guide to various self-service transactions, will be available on the site once it launches.
Additionally, to help make the transition easier, the IT Department has set up the new Employee Self Service features to use the same user ID and password that you use to log into your computer.
Important next steps:
If you have forgotten or do not know your network user ID or password, which is what you use to log into your computer, contact the IT Help Desk at 713-892-7378 or helpdesk@houstonisd.org to have it reset.
