Summit to build additional skills for administrative support staff
Filing. Answering phone calls. Responding to emails. Comforting a sick child waiting for his mom. Easing the worries of a parent whose child forgot her lunch. HISD’s administrative support staff play a critical role in the day-to-day operations and success of our district.
That’s why HISD offers the annual Administrative Support Professionals Summit (ASPS) – to help these employees build on their existing skills.
This half-day summit is open to all campus and non-campus administrative assistants, clerks, and other non-instructional support professionals. To help campuses and offices maintain adequate staffing levels, participants may choose to attend a morning or afternoon session.
Coordinated by the Onboarding & Organizational Development and Benefits teams, the fifth annual Administrative Support Professionals Summit will focus on topics related to time management and organizational skills. Participants will learn:
- Things that get in the way of organization
- Common barriers to effective time management
- Identifying what we can control
- How to balance, prioritize, and organize the demands in their lives
The ASPS is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and sessions will fill quickly. The deadline to register is Friday, April 22, 2016. A waitlist will open for each session once registration reaches capacity. Visit eTRAIN and register using Course #OB0023.
