Choose to receive 2016 W2 forms electronically or via U.S. mail

HISD is required by the IRS to furnish all employees with a W-2 form each calendar year they work for the district. The W-2 form details an employee’s compensation, tax withholdings, and required disclosures. In the past, HISD employees have received paper copies of their W‐2 via the U.S. mail.
You now have the option to choose whether to receive your W-2 electronically or via the mail.
- If you would like to print your W-2, this option is already set for you in OneSource Employee Self Service (ESS). An email blast will be sent by January 31, 2017, notifying you that the 2016 form is available. To access the form at your convenience, you will need to login to ESS and print your W-2.
- If you would like to have your W-2 mailed to you, you MUST login to ESS, select “Election for Online W-2,” highlight the first selection row, select “Election Details,” and change the “Receive W-2 online” to “Receive W-2 in paper option.”
- The deadline to make the change is Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. Also, please make sure your address is correct, as the W-2s will be mailed to the address on record. For assistance with this process, please see the screen shots below:
