HISD offering tuition assistance for aspiring teachers

Are you interested in becoming an HISD teacher? HISD has received a two-year grant that will provide six teaching assistants and long-term associate teachers the opportunity to receive tuition assistance (up to $18,000) to obtain a degree in Teaching and Learning. This is a perfect opportunity for current HISD teacher assistants and long-term associates who currently hold at least 75 college hours.
The deadline to apply is noon on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022. Please apply here.
Priority will be given to candidates pursuing the following certifications:
- Special Education (with Core)
- Secondary Math and Science (6th-8th)
- EC-6 Bilingual
Commitments include the following:
- Complete all university and certification requirements
- Commit to teach in HISD for two years starting August 2024
- Sign an agreement with the district
