Team leader appreciates freedom to roam

When Herman Stanley first joined Team HISD in 1988, he was a helper in the Warehouse. Now, he leads his own team in that department, supervising the transfer of furniture and other equipment into and out of district facilities.

Stanley says that while he does enjoy working with people, his favorite part of the job is getting to travel to different locations around Houston every week. “You get a chance to see the whole city going from campus to campus,” he said. “It’s good, making sure the kids have what they need to get a proper education.”

Stanley officially marked his 25th anniversary with the district on Aug. 15, but several other employees are also marking theirs this week (Aug. 11–17). See if you know anyone on this list:
