Dedication of staff through downpour brings tears to School Support Officer’s eyes

This week’s Shout Out goes to all of the members of Team HISD who contributed to making the 40 graduation ceremonies that took place over the weekend an unqualified success.

“We had parking attendants who stayed at their posts throughout the heaviest of the thunderstorms,” said School Support Officer Lupita Hinojosa. “They never came in, as they knew that the guests needed to get in on time to see their graduates receive their diplomas. The police officers were drenched and kept on going. Every single one of our team members kept pushing and never complained: custodians, parking attendants, police officers, plumbers, EVERYONE! Their drive and determination to ensure that every guest was safe as they walked through the parking lots and into the building was unbelievable. If I tell you my heart swelled and tears were in my eyes, it is an understatement. I am so very proud of each and every member of Team HISD who poured their heart and soul into this weekend to make sure that each graduate, and his or her family, friends, and guests had the best experience possible. It was truly a weekend to celebrate.”
