HISD is continuing to refine the way it shares information and communicates with employees.

Below are just a few of the tools available to help employees stay informed and connected:

  • New intranet—The Office of Communications and the Office of Information Technology recently launched a new intranet page to replace the old Employee Portal. The new site boasts streamlined navigation, a more robust search feature, and news that is pertinent to employees. Employees can vote on the site’s new name by clicking here. The new name will be announced later in August.
  • Home access to intranet—Employees can now access the site from home by going to https://remote.houstonisd.org.
  • New Twitter feed—Employees who use Twitter can stay connected to HISD by following @TeamHISD. The new account will feature regular tweets with useful information targeted specifically to employees.
  • Texting alerts—Employees can receive fast and accurate notifications in the event of an emergency by signing up for text message alerts. The Communications team uses a text messaging service to update parents, the community, and employees about safety alerts, school closings, and inclement weather. Sign up today by texting “YES” to 68453 or click here for more information.
