Networking event gives administrative professionals a chance to connect

In a district as large as HISD, sometimes it’s difficult to make professional connections with coworkers who aren’t on the same campus or in the same building.
That’s why the Onboarding & Organizational Development team is hosting the Administrative Professionals Exchange (APEX) for non-instructional paraprofessionals. The event is scheduled for 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Workplace networking is a vital skill for non-instructional paraprofessionals who want to build a “rolodex” of resources across the district. This workshop will introduce campus- and non-campus-based administrative support staff to the benefits of workplace networking, networking techniques for different personality types, and tips for “working the room.”
This interactive session will allow participants to practice the skills they learn and explore opportunities to meet contacts throughout the district.
Sign up for the event using eTRAIN and registering for course OB0040. Space is limited, and registration is completed on a first-come, first-served basis.
