- Math and Science Summit on Jan. 23: The Elementary Curriculum and Development Office is holding a math and science summit from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Kingdom Builder’s Center. The summit is open for all PK through fifth-grade teachers. Curriculum specialists, teacher development specialists, and other math, science, and STEM experts will deliver training at the conference style event. The keynote speaker will be Astronaut Clayton Anderson. Register in eTrain using #TT2735
- Educator Event @HMNS on Jan. 23 : HISD teachers at all grade levels can also attend the Houston Museum of Natural Science’s annual educator event for FREE on Saturday, Jan. 23. At the conference style event, educators can learn about the educational opportunities and resources provided by Houston-area museums, educational nonprofits, and local organizations. HISD educators will get free entrance to HMNS permanent exhibit halls all day, and will have the opportunity to earn three hours of CPE credit. Participants must attend three 45 minute workshops to receive credit. Click here to register.
- TLAC Tuesday on Jan. 26: New and veteran HISD teachers can learn proven classroom management techniques based on the bestselling book “Teach Like A Champion” during TLAC Tuesday’s at the district. The next training in 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at several schools across the district. The TLAC technique “Seeking Academic Rigor: Ratio Everybody Writes” will be highlighted.
