Training Spotlight: Transformation Summit
View award-winning documentary and receive $100 stipend
All secondary teachers are invited to a screening of the award-winning documentary “Most Likely to Succeed” at the HISD Transformation Summit on Feb. 6 at Chavez High School. After viewing the film, which follows students and educators at High Tech High School in California and their work to re-invent school, HISD teachers will join their content-area colleagues to discuss implications of the film for their content area and plan for transformational instruction in upcoming grading cycles. Afterwards, participants will take part in choice learning sessions on various topics including the HUB and project based learning.

New Teacher Saturday: Assessment Success: Saturday, Feb. 6
Want to be stronger at implementing classroom management approaches, differentiating instruction or utilizing student performance data? You can enhance your skills in these areas and more at the New Teacher Saturday Learning. Workshop topics will include an overview of Excel, analyzing and organizing data by using A4E, and outlining targeted objectives for students with accommodations and modifications. Participants will select three workshops based on career level, grade/content, and specified need. All teachers will need to bring their laptops. Participants will receive a $50 stipend and breakfast. Register in e-TRAIN using course code PD1135.
