by HISD Communications

Team HISD’s instructional support staff play a vital role in the education of the district’s students, so it’s important they have opportunities to grow and develop to help them become more effective.

That’s where the Instructional Support Staff Academy comes in. The professional development event, scheduled for Saturday, April 30, is aimed at associate teachers, teaching assistants, and Apollo fellows and will focus on key classroom practices such as:

  • Classroom management
  • Lesson planning
  • Curriculum navigation
  • Pathways to Success

This valuable training opportunity is limited to 200 participants, however, attendance is voluntary and unpaid.

The Academy is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, and the deadline to register is Wednesday, April 27. The location will be provided when participants successfully register. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
