Two teachers recognized by Chick-fil-A & Telemundo

Sharpstown High’s Nicanora Garza-Watson and T.H. Rogers Elementary’s Yan Cecilia Cheng recently were named co-teachers of the month by Chick-Fil-A and Telemundo.
Garza-Watson is an instructional specialist whose dedication goes beyond her students’ needs in the classroom. She routinely provides meals and snacks for students to ensure they don’t go hungry during the school day.
Cheng is a math teach at T.H. Rogers Elementary who almost always makes herself available to help students on her campus. She regularly uses her duty-free lunch period during past three years to tutor students to help with math and other subjects as well.
To recognize Garza-Watson and Cheng for their outstanding work, Chick-fil-A and Telemundo recently surprised them with a catered breakfast for their students and recognition during a Telemundo broadcast.
