HISD launching Aspiring Assistant Principal Academy
HISD is launching the Aspiring Assistant Principal Academy, a 12-week intensive program beginning in January that seeks to mold teacher leaders into the next generation of assistant principals.
Application Details:
• Start date: Nov. 1, 2023
• End date: Nov. 30, 2023
• Eligibility: Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Education and will require a letter of recommendation from their current principal and executive director of feeder.
About the Program:
The Aspiring Assistant Principal Academy is a comprehensive 12-week program commencing on Jan. 15, 2024, and concluding on April 19, 2024. This immersive experience includes job-embedded activities where participants will have the opportunity to rotate weekly, engaging in both virtual and in-person meetings.
Who Are We Looking For?
The academy is in search of 10 highly qualified teachers from each division. This opportunity is exclusive to internal candidates who exemplify the role of a Teacher Leader.
Program Outcomes:
• Equip teacher leaders to transition seamlessly into the role of an assistant principal.
• Graduates of this program will be recognized as effective problem solvers, ready to take on the challenges of leadership.
