Middle school students now have access to EOC tutorials in the HUB
With the STAAR end-of-course exams coming up in early May, HISD is excited to extend the access of the district’s EOC tutorials to middle school students taking high school algebra and biology. The two self-paced tutorials are available to students 24/7 within the HUB and can be accessed using a laptop, tablet, or even a smart phone. The tutorials were created and designed by a team of HISD teachers, teacher developments specialists, and representatives from curriculum, academics, and the schools’ office.
These tutorials were not designed to be used for STAAR prep during the school day or for classroom instruction. Rather teachers should encourage middle school students taking high school biology and algebra to access the videos, handouts, and other materials in the tutorials before and after school, weeknights, and on weekends as a way to prepare for success on the upcoming state assessments.
