2015 December 8
by HISD Communications

Do you have new managers or high-potential Team HISD contributors who would benefit from learning and practicing effective management behaviors to increase their team’s productivity? If so, encourage them to attend the HISD New Manager Academy from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015,at the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center, 4400 W. 18th St.
Effective managers deliver results and retain their effective employees. They do it by knowing their people, talking about performance, setting high expectations, and delegating tasks. Attendees will learn behavioral models for each of these: One-on-Ones, Feedback, and Coaching.

During the New Manager Academy, participants will learn and practice these models. Additionally, they will have the Organizational Development team and a network of managers to support them in implementing what they learn.

Participants will learn what to do each day to be more effective and practice how to do it. The training is designed for attendees to leave with a specific plan to implement their new knowledge. Additionally, attendees will receive a series of follow up emails to remind them about the concepts and behaviors they learned during the academy.
