Interested in becoming a teacher? Attend this info session!

2016 January 19
by HISD Communications

Each year, hundreds of HISD employees successfully make the transition to full-time teachers. Last year alone, 319 district employees became first-year teachers.

Even more are needed this year.

To find effective teachers, the district’s teacher recruitment team will host an information session on Tuesday, Jan. 26, for HISD employees aspiring to become teachers. Time and location details will be sent to registrantshttps://houstonisd.wufoo.com/forms/hisd-internal-teacher-information-session-jan-2016 via email once they have registered. Sign up here before the deadline, which is Monday, Jan. 25.

Please note that this annual information session is for current non-teacher HISD employees aspiring to become teachers, not for current full-time teachers.

At the session, participants will learn about the requirements for becoming a teacher, how to apply for positions, and what to do once they are approved for the teacher selection pool.

HISD is always looking internally for potential teachers who can effectively meet the needs of district students.
