Registration open for Summer PLS at NRG Park
PLS expanded to include more campus leadership
Registration is now open for schools to register campus leadership teams for the district’s Professional Learning Series (PLS) June 13-15, at NRG Park, 8400 Kirby, 77054.
This year’s PLS has been expanded to include a wider audience of campus leaders. School leadership teams should include principals, counselors, assistant principals, instructional coordinators, and lead teachers, as well as other staff selected by the campus principal. The theme of this year’s conference is “Leading for Instructional Excellence and Equity.”
The PLS will provide a platform for HISD leaders to cultivate their skills in guiding comprehensive literacy instruction within the framework of equity, cultural responsiveness, and academic success for all students. Leaders will focus on best practices and develop relevant skills and action steps necessary to achieve these goals. A variety of learning strategies will accommodate the needs of leaders and provide opportunities for collaboration and action planning.
School leadership teams should not exceed the following numbers:
Campus Student Count | Maximum number of participants per campus |
Up to 1,000 | 10 |
Greater than 1,000 | 12 |
Central Office Departments | 4 |
Registration is available now in e-TRAIN through June 7. Combination, specialty schools, and central office personnel may register by using the e-TRAIN course number that reflects their primary work level assignment.
PK-5 schools: e-TRAIN: LD0550
Middle schools: e-TRAIN: LD0551
