​Secondary teachers sought to develop Master Courses

In the 2015-2016 school year, the HISD Secondary Curriculum Department, in collaboration with teacher writers, began the development of digital, customizable, student-facing lessons that model best practices in content development, technology integration, literacy, and 21st century skills.  These resources were called Master Courses.   

This summer, all existing Master Courses will be revised.  Work will also begin on new courses including World Geography, World History, English 3, English 4, Grades 6 and 7 Social Studies, Grades 6, 7, and 8 Science, Grades 6, 7, and 8 Math and Grades 6, 7, and 8 ELA. Additionally, exemplar PBL units will be developed.

Teachers interested in being part of this project, as writers or as members of the vetting teams, can apply using the Google doc below. Please note that Google Chrome should be used as the internet browser in order to submit the form.

Applications will be vetted by the Secondary Curriculum Department, with final decisions for Round 1 applicants announced by May 9. Final decisions for Round 2 applicants will be announced by May 30.​
