Adriannette Garcia: April 2017 Employee of the Month
Adriannette Garcia, Employee of the Month for April, is an executive administrative assistant for the Office of School Leadership at the Ryan Professional Development Center.
Throughout her five years with the district, Garcia has cultivated relationships and skills across many different departments in HISD, and that accumulation of knowledge and experience has helped her become a standout employee in a department that’s grown from four to more than 40 employees.
Garcia takes pride in the fact that her position in Leadership Development can have a positive effect in the classroom.
“My motivation is the kids of HISD. Because we work with professional development, our trainings impact all first- and second-tier leaders. “What we do impacts everyone.”
As a single mother of four who also is completing her bachelor’s degree in accounting, Garcia is admired in her department for her strong work ethic, commitment, and efficiency.
“She’s a person that works really hard every day,” said Leadership Development Officer Dawn Randle. “She’s truly dedicated to Team HISD. She balances motherhood with being an outstanding HISD employee, so she’s very deserving of this honor.”
