Join the MRG for the 2017-2018 school year
Back to school gathering Aug. 31; book club starts Sep. 8
Upper and mid-level managers and supervisors are invited to join the HISD Manager Resource Group (MRG) for the 2017-2018 school year. In its third year, the MRG was created to provide resources and tools for new and existing managers plus create networking opportunities and collaboration among employees from different HISD departments.
The first meeting of the school year will be held Aug. 31 from 5- 7 p.m. at Américas Restaurant in River Oaks, 2040 West Gray, 77019. Subsequent meetings will follow on Sep. 21 and Nov. 30.
In addition, the MRG will be hosting a fall book club from 11:00-11:30 a.m. every Friday from Sept. 8 to Nov. 10 in the Café Conference Room 1ED32 located at Hattie Mae White. Drop in each Friday to share perspectives and have informal conversations focused on employee management topics. Discussions are facilitated by fellow HISD managers. This fall, the group will be reading The Power of Communication by Helio Fred Garcia.
