New titles for schools chiefs
In an effort to ensure the titles the district uses for positions within HISD are reflective of the work we are doing, we will from this point on use the administrative title of “area superintendent” rather than “chief school officer” (CSO) to refer to our seven area school leaders. This change is to ensure that the title of “superintendent” in our district connotes a more direct relationship to our schools. There will be no change in responsibility in these positions, only a change in title. Our seven area superintendents are:
Area Superintendent North: Julia Dimmitt
Area Superintendent South: Nicole Moore
Area Superintendent East: Jorge Arredondo
Area Superintendent West: Rebecca Brown
Area Superintendent Achieve 180: Erick Pruitt
Area Superintendent Superintendent’s Schools: Yolanda Rodriguez
Area Superintendent Northwest: Steven Gutierrez
