Who’s taken over the third floor of HMW?
Group working on large scale project that will upgrade SAP and migrate PeopleSoft
If you have spent any time at Hattie Mae White during the past few months, it’s hard not to notice the dozens upon dozens of people who have taken over most of the third floor. Who are all these people and what are they doing? The short answer—they are making sure the district has a successful launch of a large scale project that not only will upgrade SAP but will migrate all PeopleSoft functions to SAP.
“We are not the favorite of the third floor because we are taking over conference rooms, and conference rooms are scarce at Hattie Mae White,” said Chief Technology Officer Lenny Schad. “This is a huge project with lots of moving parts, and we have needed to bring in lots of folks with a unique skillset to assist in the configuration phase as we test, integrate, and make sure everything will work smoothly for the end user when we go live in July 2016.”
Employees won’t be trained on the new system until the spring, but the district has tasked a select group from Team HISD to help guide the district through the project’s implementation and to provide their coworkers with regular communication updates leading up to the launch next summer.
Each HISD campus and department has designated an employee that is serving on the district’s Change Agent Network. The network serves as a way for employees to provide feedback to project leaders and act as a communications conduit from the district level to individual schools and departments.
