Tuesday, Nov. 13 – Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance Town Hall 2013: The town hall meeting, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., will provide an overview of the 2013 Strategic Vision and an interactive feedback session. The sessions will focus on strategic partnerships and community involvement, fit-for-purpose programs, and events and strategic geographic growth.
Friday, Nov. 16 – Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance Educational Encounter: This session, “Maintaining the Momentum,” is about evaluating your successes and failures, learning best practices from beginning to end, and how to maintain successful contracts. The session is from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 28 – Houston ISD networking event: The Houston Independent School District is hosting a networking event for subcontractors interested in providing services to architecture and engineering companies, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carnegie Vanguard High School, 1501 Taft Street.

Wednesday, Dec. 5 – Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2012 Procurement Summit and Business Expo: As part of the HHCC Strategic Plan, the Chamber has identified procurement opportunity as a major focus. Through the Procurement Summit & Business Expo, participants obtain valuable information regarding the procurement process. The anticipated audience includes chamber members and procurement experts (city, corporate, & governmental entities). This constructive Business to Business matchmaking opportunity provides entrepreneurs with direct access to procurement sources. The expo is from 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Thursday, Dec. 6 – WBEA Monthly Workshop: What do Exxon/Mobil, AT&T, Fluor Daniel, Shell Oil and the United Space Alliance all have in common? They and most other large corporations require their women-owned business vendors to be certified as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE.) This free session (9 a.m. – noon) will teach the eligibility requirements, the certification process and the documentation needed to apply.
Tuesday, Dec. 11 – City of Houston Meet the Buyer forum: In an effort to introduce City buyers to a wide variety of small, minority and women owned vendors, the City is hosting the 4th Annual “Meet the Buyer” Purchasing Forum will be held Tuesday, December 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
