Who: HISD Superintendent Terry Grier, Board of Education President Anna Eastman, student speakers and performers, and thousands of public school supporters
What: Superintendent Terry Grier will deliver his fourth HISD State of the Schools address to a sold-out ballroom crowd at the Hilton Americas Hotel. Dr. Grier’s speech will address the district’s plans for building 21st Century schools across the city while aggressively incorporating technology into classrooms to enhance student learning. Dr. Grier will also address plans for building on the strong academic progress happening in schools in neighborhoods across the city, which made HISD a finalist for the prestigious Broad Prize for Urban Education in 2012. The event will also feature an address from Board of Education President Anna Eastman.
Seating for news media covering Friday’s sold-out event will be provided. Meals, however, will not be available for reporters.
