Schools across Houston ISD gathered Saturday to celebrate the Year of the Horse.
The Confucius Institute hosted the program at Sharpstown International School and featured cultural performances, art, and educational activities from eight HISD schools.
Participating schools included Bellaire, Furr, and Westside high schools, the Houston Academy for International Studies, Kolter ES, Mandarin Chinese Language Immersion Magnet School, Lanier and Pin Oak middle schools, and Sharpstown International School.

I am so proud to see my great grand niece Kirsten Rainer comprising a diverse group of students, representative of our United States, participating in a Chineses celebration. It is my desire that she learns, learns, learns so that when she is older she will be able to make decisions based on a girth of information and experiences.
My best to the instructors who are dedicated to sharing your gifts and spending so much quality time with our children who are our future.
