The Houston Independent School District will hold its 2018 Special Education Fall Parent Summit on Saturday, October 27, providing parents with the opportunity to meet with Special Education professionals and attend learning sessions.
This event, which will be held at the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center (4400 W. 18th St., 77092), serves as an opportunity for HISD to better support families and empower them to be a partner in their child’s education. The theme of the event is “Beginning with the End in Mind” and will address topics such as Child Find, autism, behavior, inclusion and transition.
Former HISD Special Education students will serve as keynote speakers. The summit is half day and parents have the option of attending either the morning or afternoon session. Childcare will be provided, with a nurse on site.
