As a result of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, funds have been provided to school districts across the country to mitigate the impact COVID-19 has had – and continues to have – on elementary and secondary schools.
Now, additional funds in the amount of $54.3 billion are available for K-12 schools through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSA) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II) funds.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released the entitlement for HISD under these CRRSA ESSER II grant funds. The CRRSA ESSER II grant application must be submitted to TEA by Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021. HISD’s entitlement for CRRSA ESSER II grant funds is projected to be $358,195,503.
HISD is asking the community to provide feedback on how the district utilizes these grant funds. The survey is similar to the previously released ARP Act ESSER III survey.
You may access a survey in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese to provide feedback here: HoustonISD.org/ESSERSurvey. All surveys must be completed by Friday, July 2, 2021.
