Comcast Internet Essentials Program and Telemundo donated 500 Chromebooks and a $30,000 donation to the HISD Foundation on Friday.

Superintendent Millard House was joined by HISD Foundation Executive Director Katherine Smith in accepting the combined donation of $155,000. From that amount, $125,000 are for the Chromebooks and the remaining $30,000 is a monetary donation. The money will be used to fund multiple programs.

“The monetary donation will also support students through digital skills and exploration programming after school at two campuses and will train our families on digital learning, digital citizenship, and safety through Parent University,” House said. “The funding will also be used for the Career Ready Wagon to promote STEM career exploration.”
