This Spring, HISD students will be able to attend several college readiness fairs—both national and local—right here in Houston!
At each of these events, students will explore multiple colleges and degree programs, learn about industry certifications and technical careers, and apply for scholarships to fund their education.
Additional details about each of these upcoming opportunities can be found below, and students are encouraged to speak with their college and career readiness advisors for details. Select campuses may provide transportation.
National Hispanic College Fair at the University of St. Thomas
When: Monday, February 11, 2019 | 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Where: The University of St. Thomas
Who: HISD Students Grade 11
Description: Over 50 college and university representatives will be present to answer questions about available programs and degree options.
Houston Hispanic Forum Career and Education Day
When: Saturday, February 16, 2019 | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: George R. Brown Convention Center
Who: HISD Students Grades 6-12
Description: Attendees will meet career professionals from a variety of fields. Attendees will also learn about college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and network with college and university representatives.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund 2019 College Camp
When: Saturday, March 2, 2019 | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: University of Houston (Main Campus)
Who: HISD Students and Parents Grades 9-12
Description: At this bilingual half-day program, parents and students will attend college preparation workshops.
NACAC National College Fair
When: Thursday, March 28, 2019 | 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.
Where: NRG Center
Who: HISD Students Grades 11-12
Description: This free event is open to the public, and will connect attendees to hundreds of college and university representatives.
