NHECHS students win HUDL city championship

City champions and runners-up in varsity cross-examination will now advance to national debate competition in D.C.

Edwin Pleitez and Hope Sauceda from North Houston Early College High School and José Cantu and Emily Jackson from the Houston Academy for International Studies will be traveling to our nation’s capital this spring after being named the city champions and runners-up (respectively) in the Houston Urban Debate League’s fifth annual Andrews Kurth City Championship Debate Tournament.

The four students, who competed in the varsity cross-examination event, are now eligible to advance to the 2013 Urban Debate National Championship in Washington, D.C. in April
