Who: The May 2013 edition of HISD Up Close hosted by HISD Board of Education President Anna Eastman features an interview with fellow trustee Manuel Rodriguez Jr. on the importance of the district’s customer satisfaction survey called Your Voice. All HISD parents, principals and teachers are encouraged to complete and return the survey by May 20. Students will fill out the questionnaire during the school day from May 20-31. The survey is the largest of its kind in the history of the district and is being conducted by an outside company to assure confidentiality.

The May edition of HISD Up Close also features interviews with the district’s principals of the year and three HISD educators who recently won top honors at the H-E-B Excellence Awards and brought home a combined total of $75,000 for their schools.

When: Throughout the month of May at www.hisdtv.org and on HISD-TV (Comcast channel 18 and AT&T U-verse channel 99) on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8:30 p.m.

Why: HISD Board President Anna Eastman is committed to highlighting district initiatives and accomplishments, as well as addressing the issues most relevant to HISD parents and students.  A parent of three children who attend HISD schools, Eastman is a long time volunteer and advocate for the district and for public education.
