The T.H. Rogers Middle School Quiz Bowl Team has won national and state recognitions over the past three weeks.
The team, made up of Shomik Ghose (Captain, 8th Grade), Sanath Govindrajan (7th Grade), Joshua Hew (8th Grade), Anuraag Madabushi (8th Grade), and Allan Wang (8th Grade), first won the state title at the Texas Quiz Bowl Alliance on April 25 in Dallas, beating out a strong field that included last year’s national and state champions.

And last weekend, they competed in a competition organized by the National Academic Quiz Tournaments in Dallas and finished second in the country among 128 schools in the U.S. They lost a close game in the finals to the Kealing Middle School from Austin.
Quiz Bowl is an academics-based tournament where two teams of four students each compete against each other on variety of academic subjects, including math, science, history, literature, geography, arts, mythology, and religion.
