Student council members decided to donate to the food bank after learning that one in four southeast Texas children do not have consistent access to nutritious food. Students recognize that this issue exists in the homes of their families, friends, and neighbors.
Motivated by a desire to provide meals for those in need, the Patrick Henry Student Council planned a school dance that raised $200, which they donated to the Houston Food Bank. Students then volunteered at the food bank to witness firsthand how they are helping to alleviate hunger.
