On Saturday, HISD held graduation for the fall 2022 graduates at Delmar-Tusa Sports Complex. HISD celebrated more than 270 graduates from 40 different high schools.
“It’s a very exciting moment to make my family proud,” said Madison High School graduate Victoria Araiza. ”Being able to experience this, especially during a pandemic- I’m happy.”
Superintendent Millard House delivered opening remarks and applauded the audience, community, and students for persevering through learning through the pandemic. House again thanked the entire HISD community for being “pandemic resilient.”
“During the past couple of years, we have had students lose loved ones, and been faced with learning loss, and other difficult situations that could have easily derailed their educational journey, House said. “These obstacles did not hold them back, and it propelled them to reach this important milestone, and walk across this stage today.”
