Community meetings for 2012 bond schools are underway with some schedule changes to encourage as much participation as possible.
The community meeting for Young Men’s College Prep Academy, 1701 Bringhurst, will now be held on Nov. 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
And Sterling High School will hold its event on Nov. 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 11625 Martindale.
The community meeting for the Mandarin Chinese Language Immersion Magnet School, which had been scheduled for Oct. 22, will be postponed with a new date announced in the coming weeks.
The meetings follow several months of work by groups of teachers, staff, administrators, students and community members in Project Advisory Teams, which have been working with HISD planners and architects on the specific educational and space needs of their schools.
The goal of the gatherings is to present the work done so far in the planning and design process and to gather additional feedback from the school community to help guide the final drawings.
