HISD’s Fine Arts Department will host the inaugural Fine Arts Extravaganza at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at Miller Outdoor Theater.  

The event will showcase a variety student talent from schools across the district. The program will include more than a dozen numbers, including presentations by the district’s dance ensembles, choirs, bands, mariachi, theatre students, and videos that feature student artwork.  

Performers include the district’s All City Elementary Orchestra, All City Jazz Band, All City Mariachi, Visual Art video, Kinder HSPVA pianists, Burbank Elementary Choir, Meyerland PVA Middle School vocal soloists, All City Honor Dance Ensembles from all grades, Bellaire High School Break Dancers, Atherton Elementary School Theatre, and Crespo Elementary School Musical Theatre.  

HISD views every student as an emerging artist, recognizing that the arts are vital to the development of the whole child. The district strives to encourage the leader and artist in every child, enabling them to appreciate the importance of creativity in a global society.
