Students from across the Houston Independent School District will gather on Friday at NASA’s Johnson Space Center for the 2019 Dream on STEAM ON Student Showcase.
The Dream On STEAM On (DOSO) program, sponsored by Capital One, has given HISD an annual $25,000 grant to support 10 schools, so students can enhance their knowledge and experiences in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).
The 10 participating schools include:
- Looscan Elementary School
- Martinez Elementary School
- Mading Elementary School
- Osborne Elementary School
- Sherman Elementary School
- Marshall Middle School
- Williams Middle School
- Washington High School
- Sterling Aviation High School
- Northside High School
During the event, the 10 participating schools will present what STEAM-related activities and topics they learned with their annual campus budget. Some schools chose to go on STEAM-related field trips, some chose to learn more about coding and drones, while others chose to purchase educational materials to enhance their classroom learning experiences.
